Headline: Adam Bowdin (owner of Passporty) is to do the Silverstone Half Marathon for Charity in April 2011.
PR Publication Date: 29th November 2010.
Passporty owner; Adam Bowdin has set another challenge to complete the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon next year for two charities very close to his heart; The Alzheimer’s Society and the RNIB.
Adam said, “I decided to take on this challenge for two reasons, firstly to raise money for charity and secondly to get myself fit. A close relative is currently in the early-mid stages of Alzheimer’s and my Grandfather, who passed away in 2002, did so having being blind for the last 5 years of his life. Its going to be an emotional day, I just want to try and help make a difference. People don’t seem really aware about Dementia and its effect on older people. I feel the need to draw attention to it as much as possible.”
The run will take place on 06th March 2011, a time when Adam thinks that the weather will be just right for running in, he added “At that time of year hopefully the worst of winter will have passed and allow some good fresh air to breathe well. Mind you, the challenge is on now in these cold winter conditions to get plenty of preparation in beforehand so I don’t collapse on the day. ”
If you would like to help Adam raise as much money as possible for this event, then he has an online donation page with Virgin Money Giving located at
http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/adambowdin. 50% will be donated the RNIB and 50% will go to the Alzheimer’s Society. The monies are distributed directly through the virgin money giving website.
Photographs of the event after its completion will be published on the virgin website in addition to this website.
